THEA 3124 - Professional Preparation


1.0 Course Unit(s)
Students synthesize work completed throughout the major and engage deeply with envisioning their future. Students will study the practical demands and requirements of a professional career in the Live Performance & Media Entertainment Industries with emphasis on the individual artistic path. Students will generate a professional portfolio, formulate a five-year individualized life plan, and engage in professional career simulations. Specific to the professional portfolio, students will create some type of artistic work to add to their portfolio. IE: performance ready audition monologues for actors, original music and sound for sound designers. Students are not limited to the above alone, and can discuss with the professor more appropriate assignments. Standard grading

General Education Requirement(s): Upper-level liberal arts
Prerequisite(s): Theater major or minor or permission of instructor
