ARTH 1024 - Visual Culture Studies

This course examines how we engage with visual media and how we create and understand the messages contained within them. In particular, this course offers an introduction to methods of visual analysis and communication in order to better engage with the visual culture that surrounds us on a daily basis. This course will provide an introduction to texts in visual studies, as well as an in-depth analysis of the role of visual media in art, print culture, and digital culture.
