REL 3514 - Religion and Prisons 1 Course Unit(s) This course asks whom we punish and why, and what religion in prison offers people who are incarcerated. We address topics such as Quaker prison reform, the Japanese American incarceration, the role of religion in criminology, and religious avenues for prison abolition. Sources range from prison letters and memoirs to federal legislative hearings. Assignments may include shorter papers and a research paper (LENS).
