THEA 3414 - Directing Fundamentals

Students engage in the basic elements of directing a performance, including story analysis for directors, techniques for actor development, practical play production, and an introduction to producing. Students discuss current trends and best practices in the professional industry including conscious casting & storytelling, fight and intimacy procedures, and equitable working conditions. Students will create a public performance in collaboration with their peers as well as a director’s book documenting their process and appraising their production.
