IDS 2454 - The Bomb 1 Course Unit(s) HIST-2454 In only a few decades seemingly abstract and esoteric findings in an obscure scientific field led to the creation of the most powerful weapons ever used, the atomic bombs that destroyed the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Course topics will include the basic science behind the bomb, the relationship between governments and scientists in creating the bomb, and the debate over the use of the bomb in World War II. Appropriate for first year students.
