MUS 3254 - Conducting 1 Course Unit(s) An introduction to the discipline of conducting, applicable to both vocal and instrumental ensembles. Students will learn to acquire a conception of a musical work through listening, singing, and realization at the keyboard; to clarify that conception through study of the work’s cultural, historical, and metaphorical context; to communicate through gesture; to plan rehearsals; and to evaluate their own and others’ conducting in rehearsal and performance.
