ANTH 3374 - Health, Healing, and Culture 1 Course Unit(s) Medical anthropology is a subfield of anthropology concerned with health and healing systems crossculturally. This course examines cultural conceptions of disease, illness, and healing as they vary across cultures. Topics surveyed include the role of healers in culture, biomedicine as a cultural system, mental illness, childbirth and reproduction, and non-Western medical traditions.
