REL 2214 - Religious Biographies 1 Course Unit(s) In this course we will explore the form of religious biographies. We will begin with founders of various religious traditions and move to prominent figures within the traditions and finally read some biographies of other religious individuals who are of relatively little import. In the course of the semester we will note the various structures that biographies take and the themes that they include. We will note questions of why certain themes and formats seem to be used in the various biographies. We will also read biographies that come from a variety of perspectives and written for different audiences. We will note what those differences do to the texts. Standard
