MATH 2174 - Applied Statistics 1.0 Course Unit(s) This course introduces foundational statistical concepts and models that motivate a wide range of analytic methods in applications. Beginning with the managing, analyzing, and interpreting of data, you will learn both theoretical and practical techniques for applying models to data. You will gain experience in fitting statistical models in order to extract information and make predictions. The course emphasizes applications over theory and analyzes real data sets throughout the course. Students will be exposed to several statistical models in order that they can make informed decisions and appropriate model selection in the future. The course will use statistical programming software extensively, which will be introduced in the course. Standard grading
