HIST 2024 - Spartacus: Slaves and Gladiators 1 Course Unit(s) Also listed as CLA 2024 . Between 73 and 71 BCE, Spartacus, a Thracian gladiator, led the largest slave revolt in the ancient world. This course examines the historical record and the myths, both ancient and modern, surrounding this great story. Special attention to slavery and the institution of gladiatorial games in the Roman world.
