ART 2104 - Painting I 1 Course Unit(s) An applied studio exploration of the spatial properties of color/color theory through the use of water-based paint. Students will work from a variety of subjects as they investigate technical and conceptual issues from both historical and contemporary perspectives. Additionally, they will be exposed to a wide range of both western and non-western artists working with color, along with the personal and cultural motivations that influence their works. Critical readings and viewings, guest artists and visits to local galleries will complement studio activities.
