HIST 3324 - Colonial America: 1565-1787 1 Course Unit(s) An examination and critical evaluation of the cultural, social, political, and economic forces that shaped the area which became the United States. Particular attention will be given to the relationships between Europeans, Africans, and Native Americans; the role of the wilderness and frontier in American culture; and the colonists’ use of republican ideology. The course will also focus on a variety of historical interpretations/perspectives. (U.S. field).
