BIO 2434 - Cell Biology 1 Course Unit(s) Cells are the basic units of life, and this course provides a survey of their structure and function. In particular, we will focus on (1) the molecular constituents of the cell, organelles and the chemical processes that underlie cellular function; (2) the relationship between structure and function on multiple levels ranging from molecules to entire cells; (3) how cells adapt to their environments; and (4) cell signaling and its relationship to physiological processes and the development of cancer. Lecture and laboratory.
