UNIV 1001 - Academic Foundations .25 unit Course Unit(s) This course is designed to support first-year students as they transition to college life at Transylvania University. Transylvania Pathways provides a structured and methodical approach to academic and institutional acclimation. Meeting once a week during the first half of the semester, students will engage with their Student Success Team in an interactive environment focused on college life skills, classroom performance, academic knowledge acquisition, institutional awareness, and problem-solving strategies.
Through regular check-ins and consistent meeting times, the course fosters meaningful relationships between students and their advisors, ensuring ongoing support beyond initial move-in activities. Special sessions feature campus resources such as CAPE, ACE, and Study Abroad, offering students opportunities to explore additional services for academic success. Designed in response to student feedback, Transylvania Pathways emphasizes retention and understanding, equipping students with the skills and confidence needed for a successful first semester and beyond. This course will not incur an overload fee. Credit/No Credit
