PSY 2134 - Applied Dog Behavior: Training, Behavior Modification, and Welfare 1 Course Unit(s) This course examines the principles of learning and behavior modification as they apply to dog training and welfare. Students will explore applications of classical and operant conditioning, social learning, and enrichment and management strategies to improve the well-being of dogs. Students will apply these concepts to train and modify behavior in shelter dogs. This course integrates scientific principles with practical application, providing students with a foundation in evidence-based training while emphasizing the role of welfare in behavior change.
