Mary Hodges Stamler Endowed Chair of English or Theater

The Mary Hodges Stamler Endowed Chair in either English or theater was established through a bequest from Mr. William R. “Bill” Stamler, father of Rose Mary Stamler Dow ‘88 and past president of Transylvania’s parents’ council. Named in memory of Mary Buford Hodges Stamler, a 1925 graduate of Transylvania, the gift recognizes excellence in teaching at Kentucky’s first university. The faculty member holding this professorship will receive annual salary supplements of $5,000.
